Village boys have Wimbledon in their sights

Daily Maverick readers opened their hearts and wallets to help aspiring tennis players from Thomo village in Limpopo to buy new playing kit. In September 2021 the Daily Maverick ran a story by Mukurukuru Media of the boys who played on a dilapidated court with limited kit and broken racquets. In early December the Daily Maverick delivered an early Christmas present to the boys. The goodies include a set of new racquets, white shirts and dozens of tennis balls .
